Make Sure Your Skin is Prepped

Prepping your skin for a natural complexion look is a MUST, and that means two things – exfoliation and lots of hydration. To create a beautifully smooth canvas for makeup application, start with the WISHFUL Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub, $39, to gently exfoliate and even skin tone and texture. Next, we like to hydrate with our WISHFUL Thirst Trap Juice 3A Peptide Serum, $47, followed by our Honey Whip Peptide Moisturizer, $43, which makes the ultimate base for makeup application. Once, we’ve applied our daily sunscreen, we finish with our Water Jelly Hydrating Primer, $33, to keep everything locked in place.

For A Natural Glowing Base

For a natural glow with a little extra coverage, mix one pump of our #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Foundation, $42, with one pump of our Glowish MultiDew Skin Tint, $47. The combination of the super dewy skin tint and full coverage foundation creates a your-skin-but-airbrushed base. Think: Zendaya! Blend onto the skin with your fingers or a dense brush, then finish by lightly bouncing a damp makeup sponge across your skin for a seamless finish.

We also luuurve combining one drop of our #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Foundation, $42, with a drop of moisturizer, like our WISHFUL Honey Whip Peptide Moisturizer, $43, to get gorgeous yet natural, light coverage. Apply it with your hands, as the warmth from your fingertips will help the foundation blend effortlessly into your skin. Work in upward motions, then gently press the formula into the skin for a natural-skin finish.

For A Glazed Donut Barely-There Glow

Another way to achieve a beautiful dewy skin finish that’ll leave you looking like a glazed donut is to apply a facial oil like our WISHFUL Get Even Rose Oil, $63, followed by a medium-to-full coverage foundation like our #FauxFilter Skin Finish Foundation Stick, $39. Finish with a light dusting of powder around the T-Zone to lock in the look, without losing that glazed finish on the high points of your face. The moisture from the oil melts the foundation into the skin for a really dewy look with coverage that never looks cakey. It’s our go-to for no-makeup makeup days. Note that if you have oily skin, this technique might not be your bestie if you require all-day, life-proof wear.

For A Quick Sculpt

To sculpt and add definition with minimal effort, take our #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Liquid Concealer, $29, and apply it to the inner and outer corner of your eye, the outer corner of your nose, lips, and underneath your cheekbone, always dragging the formula in an upward motion. Blend upwards to accentuate the look with a damp makeup sponge and set with powder for all-day wear.

For Crease-Free Under Eyes

For bright, smooth undereyes that stay all day but never look cakey, take a medium fluffy brush dipped in loose powder like our Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder, $35, and gently pat the formula onto the undereye area, before sweeping away any excess. Repeat this on any other areas that are prone to creasing like smile lines or where you typically get oily, like your T-zone.

For A Dewy Glow Up

This hack is ideal for our combo and oily skin queens. If the idea of using a super dewy skin tint feels like a no-go, our Glowish MultiDew Skin Tint, $37, as a highlighter instead. Dab it onto the high points of your face, including your cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, and decolletage and you’ll be glowing all day long without having to worry about midday shine.

Top tip: For no-makeup makeup days, we typically use concealer for a light snatch, followed by our skin tint to highlight and sidestep foundation altogether.

For An All-Over Goddess Glow

Our GloWish Soft Radiance Bronzing Powder, $31, is one of the most used products in our kit. Seriously, we use it on our cheekbones, forehead, nose, lids, and even around our lips to fake a fuller pout. Not only does it leave our skin with the most stunning glow but it sculpts and adds definition.

For an instant glow: To warm up your face, take a dusting of bronzer on a large fluffy brush and sweep it across the outer area of your forehead, along your cheekbones, and then back along your jawline, so you create the shape of a three on either side of your face.

For contoured lids: Using a small fluffy brush, gently buff the powder along your crease, using a back and forth motion to blend!

For a defined nose: Use a small fluffy brush, and starting just below the inner corner of your brow, apply the bronzer along the side of your nose all the way to your nostril. Repeat on the other side, then for added definition, dust a little bit of powder underneath the tip.

For a fuller pout: On a small fluffy brush, dust a little bronzer underneath the middle third of your bottom lip. This will enhance the natural shadow creating, the illusion of fuller lips.

For A Fresh Blush

Blush is THE makeup product everyone’s obsessing over RN, and our new(ish) Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks, $25, are the G.O.A.T! For a sculpted, flushed finish, apply these sticks to anywhere you’d usually apply contour, including around your hairline and along your cheekbones, and even on your lips. Just make sure you don’t use powder products on top to retain the glowy sheen realness.

For a more intense, rosy glow, experiment with draped blush, AKA when you apply blush along your cheekbones, all the way to your temples, and above the brow bone for a snatched finish. You can also drag the blusher onto the lid for a monotone beat. It creates the most beautiful sculpted look that still looks fresh and vibrant. It’s THE look for summer 2022.

For Smooth, Bright Undereyes

To brighten your undereyes and banish dark circles, take a pink-toned powder like our Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder, $35, in the shade Cherry Blossom. The pink undertones help cancel out any blue and greyish hues lingering, helping you achieve a bright, I-just-slept-for-12-hours kinda undereye.

Simply apply your usual complexion base and concealer, then take a damp makeup sponge or powder puff, and gently press the pink-toned powder onto the undereye area. Depending on the finish you’re looking for, allow it to bake for three to five minutes, and then dust off the remaining powder with a large fluffy brush.
