BTS: The Full Scoop On My Fashion Trust Arabia Look
Hey my loves! So this week I traveled to Doha with my sister, Mona, for the Fashion Trust Arabia Awards, where I received the Entrepreneur of the Year award. Literally, I felt soooooo grateful, I was almost speechless. To be honored alongside so many amazing people in the region felt so humbling but also very empowering. Janet Jackson actually presented the award to me, which was SUCH a pinch-me moment. True story: when I told Nour, she didn’t believe me. I almost couldn’t believe it… Like Janet Jackson… What?! It was truly such an incredible night, one that I’ll never forget.
Obviously, for the night, I KNEW I had to bring it with my look! I worked with my ahhhmazing stylist, who actually pulled together so many beautiful gowns that I was totally spoilt for choice. We settled on this stunning orange Alaïa dress with gorgeous lace overlay and the most FABULOUS feather hem. It made me feel sooo beautiful.
For my hair, my stylist, Dom Seeley, and I decided we wanted to let the dress be the moment. However, we also wanted to create a look that was more fashion-forward than glamorous to go with the vibe of the event. And, because the event was going to be outside in the Qatar heat and humidity, we needed a look that would endure the night! We decided to do a wet-look, kinda-90s updo. Seriously, shout out to Dom because he literally always comes through, and I was so in love with the final look.
Finally, and most importantly, makeup! Again, I wanted to let the dress take center stage, so I went with a soft smokey glam that felt a bit 90s (to match the hair) but also stayed true to the classic Middle Eastern makeup look with lots of eyeliner. Honestly, the look felt very me – my classic glam.
Obvs, I had to give you guys the insider deets on how to get the look…

My Fashion Trust Arabia Makeup Look
As you can probably guess, I used Huda Beauty products for the full look. It made me feel so proud to use all our products that I created for an event that I was being honored at as an entrepreneur. Seriously, it was such a full-circle moment.
For my complexion, I kept it classic with my usual glam beat, using the Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Foundation, $42, and our Cheeky Tint Blush Stick, $25, in Proud Pink, for a pretty rosy glow.
For my eyes, I used our new Empowered Eyeshadow Palette, $67, as it has so many beautiful warm nude and smokey matte shades that are perfect for a 90s supermodel moment. For this event, I decided to keep it all matte as I really needed it to look flawless all night long in the Middle Eastern humidity.
On my lips, to continue the 90s energy, I used my favorite brown Power Bullet Crème Lipstick, $25, in the shade Bossy Brown Raj to keep the look really harmonious – I just loved this glam!
How to Get My Wet-Look 90s Updo
Dom is always my go-to guy for hair – he just brings it to the next level – and this hair was literally gorgeous. For all the deets, I’m going to let him describe how to get the look:
Dom says, “I started by prepping Huda’s damp hair with the Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray, $28, to prevent her hair from reacting to the extreme weather elements. I then blow-dried her hair with my Dyson Supersonic, $430. Next, to create the wavy texture, I used the GHD Classic Curl Wand, $199, and went through her hair in alternative directions and varied wave patterns to mimic a light curl texture. Once I had created that pattern, I combed it through with a wide-tooth comb, so it disrupted the curl slightly to achieve that undone texture.”
He continues, “To get the illusion of a wet look, I applied the Color Wow One Minute Transformation Anti Frizz Styling Cream, $24, all over her hair. For the updo, I gathered all the hair and rolled it at the back, keeping it close and tight to the scalp. I then pulled out some pieces of her hair, especially around the face, to soften the look and accentuate her facial features.”
“I then set the look in place with the Color Wow Cult Favorite Firm + Flexible Hairspray, $26, and then finished with a TON of Color Wow Extra Mist-ical Shine Spray, $29, to impart incredible shine and make it look wet. We wanted it to have this just-got-out-of-the-shower kinda vibe. Then finally, I pinned it all into place with some U shape bobby pins,” says Dom.
Honestly, it was such an incredible night, but I couldn’t have done any of this without you guys. Thank you so much for supporting me along this journey to becoming the entrepreneur I am today. You guys mean everything to me! Did you like my look? Let me know in the comments below.
