My Go-To Makeup Hacks RN For Soft, Sculpted Glam

Makeup

One of my fave things about makeup is experimenting and having fun. Whenever I try a new formula, I always love to see how I can use it in different ways – I love a good hack! Recently, my go-to look is gorgeous, glowy skin with a soft, smokey wing and subtle lid contouring – it makes me feel soooo sexy, but I also think it looks kinda effortless, which I love. So as always, I wanted to share these hacks with you guys because it makes doing your makeup SO much easier.

1. Finger Application For Natural Makeup

This may shock you guys since I’m obsessed with makeup brushes, but I love applying my makeup with my hands when I’m not full glamming. The heat from your fingers allows the makeup to melt into your skin for a gorgeous, natural finish. It’s also great if you’re on the go and you’re caught off-guard without your tools. Just make sure you’re gentle and use light tapping motions to help distribute your formulas. Never tug or pull downwards!

Sharp & Smokey Eyeliner Using A Post-it

If you’re someone who struggles with a smokey eye or even eyeliner application, you need this hack in your life. It’s the easiest way to get a really crisp, clean line, and it helps you find the right eyeliner angle while helping to lift and snatch your eye.

Start by placing the post-it edge along the lower lash line and angle it to meet near the tail end of your brow. Use this edge as a guide to create your wing. Next, draw along your lashline to meet your wing. Wait for the liner to set, then take a grey-toned eyeshadow and a small brush and start layering the eyeshadow along your wing for a sexy, smoked-out vibe. You can also layer other eyeshadow shades – I love warm plum tones RN. Finish by peeling the post it back and apply lashings of mascara.

Lid and Lip Contour with Bronzer

During the day, I usually keep my eye makeup pretty simple, but one thing I always do is contour my lid. Eye contouring is so simple, but it instantly adds definition and snatches your eye. I actually love to use my bronzer as it creates a harmonious final look. I use our GloWish Soft Radiance Bronzing Powder, $31, as it’s easily buildable, blends so beautifully, and looks really natural. I use a small fluffy brush and sweep the shadow along the lid’s crease, extending it outwards towards the brow bone. To finish the look, take a small dense brush and line your lower line.

When it comes to my lips, you guys know I love to contour! To fake a fuller pout, start by taking a small flat brush and the same bronzing shade and sweep it softly along the outer line of your bottom lip. Next, take the same brush and trace it just above your Cupid’s bow. To bring the look together, overline your lips with a nude-toned lip liner, and finally, apply your lipstick to the center of your lip. I love the Huda Beauty Power Bullet Creme Glow Hydrating Lipstick, $25, as the juiciness adds to the illusion of a fuller lip.

My On-The-Go Lip Liner Hack

Okay, so I have to confess that when I saw this TikTok hack, I didn’t think it would work, but I’m converted. It’s ideal for when you’re in a hurry and don’t have time for precision. The hack involves tightly pressing your lips together, so you’re left with only your taughtened outer lip line on display. Then apply your lip liner and liquid lipstick while your lips are pressed together. By the time you’re done and relax your lips, you have flawlessly applied, evenly-lined lips. The process looks a little cray – so maybe not one to do in public – but the result of flawless lipstick with no smudging is so worth it.
