Is This The Best Lightweight Full-Coverage Concealer?
Among the long list of iconic Benefit Cosmetics products is the Boi-ing Concealer. That little pot of ‘industrial strength’ concealer was actually one of the first concealers we saved up to buy in high school! So you can imagine our excitement when they announced the release of its first-ever liquid sista; the Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer. Just like the OG Boi-ing, it’s full coverage, long-wearing, and easily blendable – but does it hold up IRL? We put it to the full Huda Beauty, waterproof, humidity-proof, life-proof test. Here’s what happened…
What it is: The Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer is a matte, full-coverage concealer that contains specially-coated pigments to create a natural finish that’s crease-resistance, aka it doesn’t cake, and has 24-hour wear! The formula is lightweight, easily blendable, and includes algae-derived ingredients known for smoothing the look of skin. It’s available in 12 shades with warm, cool, and neutral undertones that range from fair to deep.

What it does: The multitasking product will conceal everrrything from dark undereye circles to blemishes and discoloration. As it’s easily blendable, it can also be used to contour and highlight.
The applicator: The liquid concealer has a small doe-foot applicator made with flocking, which is made of tiny fibers to help distribute the product. The bottle also has a built-in wiper to give the perfect amount of product every single time without getting messy around the cap of the bottle.
What we like: As soon as we applied the concealer, we immediately noticed how lightweight it was, which for a full-coverage concealer is quite rare. We were also super impressed with how easily the formula blended, and it also has plenty of playtime, so you don’t need to rush. Within seconds, it transformed our eyes from tired to hella-bright and true to form, it didn’t look cakey at all. So, although this didn’t settle into our fine lines as much as some pigmented concealers do, we do recommend setting this with powder if you have fine lines or wrinkles to stop into them.
We were also really impressed with how the concealer held up through the day; it didn’t crack or make our skin feel dry. The formula is very comfortable, and easy to work with and apply, so whether you like a natural look or a cake face, this is definitely worth trying!
What we didn’t like: Our biggest disappointment with this concealer is the shade range as it currently only has 12 shades. Although all 12 shades did suit fair to deep skin tones there’s not a ton of options, and very rich skin tones may find it hard to find a direct match if not using concealer to highlight the face. We also wish a little more concealer came out on the applicator because if you like to use concealer to highlight your under eyes and face, you’ll need to dip in more than once.
The verdict: Benefit has definitely taken their original Boi-ing Concealer to a new level with this liquid formula that’s now much easier to apply with a doe-foot applicator. We also love that it’s super lightweight but still gives great coverage (not the fullest, but definitely full coverage). The only drawback is the shade range, which could definitely benefit from more shades.
