If there’s one thing we’ll never be able to help, it’s our obsession with eyeshadow palettes, and we love to see how different brands and bloggers get creative with color stories, new formulas, and themes! The latest, gorgeous palette to hit our desks is Manny MUA’s Luna Beauty Moon Spell Palette, $48. Considering we’ve been super impressed with all of the formulas in his previous eyeshadow palettes, we were excited to get our hands on his new limited-edition Holiday collection!

We are loving the theme of this spooky collection, inspired by Manny’s love for witches, which is reflected in the color story and packaging and it’s giving us major Sabrina the Teenage Witch vibes. Everything from the unique palette design created to look like a book of spells (shoutout to the super cute names!), and the green and purple shades that are Manny’s interpretation of witches in pop culture are really unique. What it is: A 15-shade eyeshadow palette with mattes, shimmers, toppers, and glitter formulas.

The formulas: There’re some really interesting formulas in this palette. The shade Prue (top left) is a pinky-purple shade with a super fine glitter that looks so stunning – it picks up really well with a brush and looks just as vibrant with your finger or a brush. We’re also loving the shade Samantha, a super intense copper gold metallic that’s packed with pigment and shine.

We found most of the mattes to be really smooth, although a couple of the brighter shades (Paige, Sabrina, and Nancy) were slightly less creamy – these pigments are typically more difficult to work with as they are dryer – but they were still super pigmented, built really well, and lasted on our lid all day. The shades Sabrina and Paige also really pop on the lid, a bit like a neon shade. We tried tons of different combinations and the colors blended together beautifully without muddying and looked really intense on all skin tones.

Tips: There’s a little fallout with the mattes, so tap your brush first before you apply to the lid – we always do this! To get the most pop from the shimmers and metallics, use your fingers or a small, densely-packed brush to apply. Prep your lid by setting your lid with a little concealer and powder or an eyeshadow primer.

What we liked: We love the shade range! The greens are really different and blend beautifully together to create gorgeous monochromatic looks, while the purple shades are really popping and also blend well together. The middle row is comprised of warm brown mattes and bronzy shimmers, which work really well as transition shades and with the other colors. The great thing about this palette is you can create both bold and neutral looks, while the colors are also pretty enough to be worn alone for a simpler look.

Overall, we’re really feeling these colors, but it is probably a palette for someone who loves to wear color on their lids. If you’re into a more neutral look, we highly recommend Manny’s Lunar Beauty Greek Goddess Palette, $48, which has a stunning collection of neutral mattes and shimmers and the formulas are also bomb.
