Why This Iconic Sexy Updo Is THE Style Of The Moment

pammy updo

Without a doubt, the hairstyle everyone is feeling right now is the Pammy Updo: a messy bun with swooped curtain bangs and soft tendrils. We’ve seen it at the Grammys, the Oscars, and all over TikTok. And we totally get, the hairstyle is so friggin’ cute! She’s sassy, she’s sexy, and she serves this chic yet 100% baddie energy that Pam was known for.

The main reason for the modern-day revival of the iconic 00s ‘do? Well, we all know anything Y2K is basically a guaranteed trend RN, but that’s not all. There’s a new must-watch show that documents the relationship between Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee and their leaked sex tape, named Pam & Tommy. Ever since, the world has been obsessed with Pamela’s iconic hairstyle. Seriously, the hashtag #pamelaandersonhair has already scooped over 6 million views on TikTok… And counting. The good news is, as the look is kinda undone and disheveled in the best possible way, it’s easy to achieve at home and perfect for second or even third-day hair. Here’s how to get the look and all the celeb inspo you need.

How To Get The Pammy Updo

If you have a fringe you have the advantage here, but if you don’t and you’re not committed to making the chop, separate two tendrils on either side of your face to create a similar vibe. To recreate the iconic look, start by wrapping your fringe (or hair tendrils) around a medium-to-large-sized roller.

Next, tie your hair into a messy bun at the crown of your head by scooping your hair into a ponytail and then twisting the hair into a bun. Ensure that the ends of your hair are facing the front, then using hairpins or butterfly clips, separate and secure small hair strands around the bun. Then, slowly and gently remove small pieces from the bun to add to that undone vibe.

To finish, remove the hair roller and let your bouncy fringe (or hair tendrils) do their thang. Finish by pulling out fine sections of hair just above the ears to complete the wispy, voluminous look.

What we love about this style is that it literally looks great on everyone, whether you have curls or straight, fine hair. If you have short hair, you can play around with hair extensions to get the look. Just watch this TikTok to see the results.
