We’re a sucker for a nail trend. How can you not be? It’s such a cute way to update your look and experiment with trends. The latest nail trend to catch our attention is ‘sea glass nails,’ coined by nail artist and Nike shoe designer Jessica Washick (check out her page, it’s dope AF). She describes them as “Slightly more opaque than #Jellynails and finished with a matte topcoat.” Well, we’re low key obsessed, plus they’re perfect for fall.
The good news is Jessica spilled all the deets on how you can DIY the nail trend at home. And, although Jessica started the trend using teal green, you can switch up the color – we’ve seen other variants pop up on Instagram including rainbow. Here’s all the deets and inspo on sea glass nails…
How To DIY Sea Glass Nails

Step 1: Apply clear tip false nails using nail glue.
Step 2: Apply a clear top coat polish like the OPI Top Coat, $11, then shape and style them to your choice. Jessica opted for almond nails, which looks super cute.
Step 3: Grab a sheet of aluminum foil and mix together a clear top coat nail polish and a cream opaque nail polish of your choice. Then apply two coats of your DIY polish.
Step 4: Finish by applying another coat of clear nail polish followed by a matte top coat like the OPI Matte Top Coat, $8.
