It’s official: award season has begun with the 78th Golden Globes and TBH, we couldn’t be more excited. After a year of no red carpets, it was a feast for our eyes. Despite the fact that the event was bi-coastal for the first time on record, and many guests had to Zoom in from their living room, the glam squads came out in full force. There was just the right amount of old Hollywood glamour mixed with iconic beauty moments, and of course, the odd programming hiccup. Case in point: when Daniel Kaluuya got accidentally muted on Zoom… Is there anything more 2020 than that?

As for the aforementioned beauty moments, they confirmed our predicted 2021 beauty trends are here to stay. From red vinyl lipstick to glossy locks, here are some of 2021’s most highly anticipated beauty trends showcased by Hollywood A-listers.

Red Vinyl Lips

Despite the fact that masks were mandatory for the majority of the night, when actors walked the red carpet celebs like Laverne Cox and Margot Robbie sported a sexy, red vinyl lip. Red lipstick is predicted to be a huge trend this year and was seen at all the SS21 shows during fashion month. Models at Max Mara and Tom Ford slayed rich red lips, proving that it’s a timeless look that’ll never go out of fashion. However, the glossy finish adds a modern edge, and needless to say, we’re obsessed.

We love this makeup look on Margot Robbie created by her go-to makeup artist Pati Dubroff. The simple, understated eye makeup allows the lip to take center stage.

French girl beauty is yet another trend predicted to be HUGE this year after the popularity of the Netflix series, Emily in Paris. This classic pairing of a red lip and lashings of mascara is très chic!
