When it comes to 90’s beauty trends, most of them we try to stay clear of  – er hello, over-plucked brows? But there’s one trend that’s making a come-back and we’re high-key into it – white eyeliner. It turns out that celebs are feeling it too, and over the past couple of months, they’ve been reinventing ways to wear white eyeliner with soooo many bomb new looks. From Rihanna and Bella Hadid to Margot Robbie and Willow Smith, they’re all rocking this throwback trend, and absolutely killing it…

In our opinion there are very few things Rihanna can’t pull off, somehow, she even made religious headgear look sexy AF at this year’s Met Ball; so white liner was a piece of cake! At this year’s Louis Vuitton Menswear show, she let her flawless skin do most of the talking with a natural look, which let her white liner take center stage. Take note guys.

Get the look: Grab your liquid liner, our fav is the Kat Von D Ink Liner in white, $20, and start by drawing a thin line, 1/3 way into your outer corner and build thickness into an elongated wing. A flat angular wing will work well with this look as it adds a little edge. Add a little mascara and keep your makeup simple and natural with a touch of blush to warm your complexion.

We can’t get enough of this cool smokey eye. The addition of the white kohl gives it an instant summery update. Plus, her dewy skin looks flawless AF.

Get the look: Start by blending a warm brown shadow along your crease. Intensify the look by blending in a darker grey toned shade to the crease and along the outer corners, smoking outward. Using the same shade, line the lower lash line. For extra precision, dip a cotton bud in some makeup remover, gliding the cotton bud from the outer corner of your eye to the tip of your brow, and touch-up with concealer. Using a white, silver-toned liner, start by drawing a rough line from the inner corner of your eye into a curved wing. If you don’t have a liner, you can try using setting spray with a white or silver eyeshadow to intensify the color.

Willow Smith

When you have Will and Jaden Smith as parents, you’re basically destined to be cool AF. Willow Smith is absolutely slaying this white liner look, making a rather basic 90’s trend look super edgy. We’re SO into this.

Get the look: Firstly, sharpen your pencil eyeliner, as precision for this look is key. Starting directly underneath you tear duct, trace your liner along your lower lash line into a horizontal wing. Add thickness along the center of your eye for added drama. Finish with a very light coating of mascara to your top lashes only.

Margot Robbie

This look is so angelic and yet really easy the achieve at home. We love the cool icy tones of the white liner with the pale pink lip, which softens the look making it super feminine.

Get the look: Start by drawing a thick line, beginning at the inner corner of the eye. Maintain the thickness until you reach the outer corner of your eye, but avoid drawing it out into a wing, for an edgier look. To make your eyes look bigger, line your lower waterline with a white eyeliner pencil as well.

Bella Hadid

This look is absolutely stunning on Bella: the white liner really makes her green eyes pop, and the warm coppery eyeshadow softens the eye while heightening the contrast of the two colors.

Get the look: Start by applying a neutral shadow all over your lid and then blend a warm copper shadow around the crease using a blending brush. Using a thin tip liquid liner, start by drawing a thin line from the inner corner of your eye, tracing the natural shape of your eye into a gentle flick.
