Drugstore Product Of The Week: This $10 Primer Is Everything!
Primers are one of those beauty products that many people are skeptical about! Do you really need one? What does it actually do? And will it make your makeup last longer? Well, while we’ve definitely tried some primers that don’t do that, we’re excited to tell you about one that definitely does do all those things, and more – plus it only costs $10!
So, when we tried Maybelline’s new collection of Facestudio Master Prime Primers we were VERY excited. Does it visibly blur pores? Check! Does it make our skin feel like a baby’s bum? Yes it did – and honestly, it really did keep our makeup looking flawless all day, and it even prevented our foundation from settling into fine lines. Of course, we didn’t just test this once, we had our team test this on different skin types and with different foundations (including Dior Star, Too Faced Born This Way, and the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation). We take testing very seriously! We tried their two new formulas:

Master Prime Blur + Defend: Probably our FAVE thing about this is it’s a primer with SPF 30 – in case you’re new to Huda Beauty, we take SPF very seriously because it’s VERY important! We know sunscreen seems like an annoying extra step that could ruin your makeup (we promise these sunscreens don’t), which is why this primer that includes an SPF is amazing for when you don’t have time to layer all your skincare! The formula feels a little tacky-to-the-touch after, but this makes it a really great base for foundations it – kinda like it grips the makeup.
Master Prime Blur + Pore Minimize: This is one of those primers that makes your skin feel like silk and seriously helps to mask pores! A little goes a long way and it really helps to smooth out texture while gripping makeup in place. This gave a semi-mattifying effect for oily skin, yet it still felt hydrating.
The Master Prime Primer collection also includes a hydrating option and color correcting primers. Check out the full collection here.
