Ahhh, awards season. We love it ’cause celebs ditch their everyday glam for unmissable ‘fits and fierce makeup looks, giving us a steady stream of beauty content. Thankfully, their glam squads give us a peek into all the products used to get them paparazzi-ready, and we love when that includes drugstore formulas! From the $9 palette Meghan Thee Stallion used for a smoldering smokey-eye to SZA’s pearly whites, meet the budget buys that made it to the red carpet.

1. Megan Thee Stallion’s Drugstore Beat

Megan Thee Stallion arrived at the 2022 Grammys with an entire drugstore makeup beat – now that’s real hot girl sh*t. For her smoked-out eye makeup, she relied on the Revlon So Fierce! Prismatic Shadow Palette in Tantrum, $9, and topped it off with the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen Sharp Line, $11, in shade Blackest Black.

As for her ’90s baddie lip, she used the Revlon ColorStay Lip Liner Pencil, $8, in shade Chocolate, to line her lips. Next, she layered it with the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick, $6, in shade Bare It All, and added a top coat of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss, $6, in Sandstorm for a glossy finish.

2. Doja Cat’s Skincare Staples

Like us, Doja Cat’s MUA Ernesto Casillas believes “Prepping the skin is essential for a glowing complexion.” He first cleansed her skin with The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, $8. He then relied on The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Oil Control Serum, $7, and The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum, $8, to prep her base. Finally, he finished off with a generous layer of The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA, $6.

Doja Cat also brought back the ’90s with spiked tendrils, baby bangs, and an ethereal pixie beat. Everything about the look was utter perfection, including her fluttery lashes, thanks to the Kiss Lash Couture Masterpiece Prêt-À-Porter Eyelashes, $10.

3. Dua Lipa’s Shimmery Polish

Nail artist Kim Truong was tagged on practically every ‘fit check from the 2022 Grammys because she’s THAT good. But it was Dua Lipa’s tips that had us hooked.

Truong first coated her nails with the OPI Nail Lacquer, $11, in the shade Black Onyx. Next, she layered the OPI Chrome Effects Mirror Shine Nail Powder, $10, in shade Gold Digger, to match the golden details of her Versace gown… And the actual Grammy trophy.

4. H.E.R.’s Dewy Skin

To say H.E.R. was glowing at the Oscars would be an understatement. Lucky for us, her MUA Marissa Vossen dropped the 101 on every product used to get H.E.R (wink wink) glistening complexion, and her dewy skin is a result of the L’Oréal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum, $20, which never disappoints.

5. Olivia Rodrigo’s Glossy Hair Prep

Olivia Rodrigo kept it pink yet punk at the Grammys this year. Her hairstylist Clayton Hawkins ensured her locks looked (and stayed) glossy through the night. He started with the Dove Beauty Hair Therapy Ceramide Brilliant Gloss & Repair, $7, to prep her strands before styling. Next, he went over her strands with the Dove Beauty Hair Therapy 7-in-1 Miracle Mist, $7, for a sleek and sexy finish.

6. Zendaya’s Hair Must-Haves

Only Zendaya could look this good in a tousled updo, and we’re not mad. Her hairstylist, Antoinette Hill, chose a soft upsweep that “accentuates [her] beautiful features” for the Oscars. For the look, Hill first sprayed the TRESemmeé One Step 5-in-1 Volume Spray, $6, at her roots while styling her hair. For shine, she added the TRESemmeé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum, $6, before spritzing the TRESemmeé Total Volume Hairspray, $6, for all-day hold. A must when it comes to the events, right?

7. SZA’s Drugstore Dentist

SZA was the floral goddess of the Grammys night. But her dreamy look was effortlessly elevated by her gorgeous smile. The stunning singer credits Crest 3DWhitestrips Classic White at Home Teeth Whitening, $19, for her pearly whites – excuse us as we run to the drugstore.

8. Elle Fanning’s Bold Lip Shade

Take notes from Elle Fanning STAT because her bright, red lip at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards was everything. Her MUA Erin Ayanian Monroe used the vibrant L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Matte Lipcolour, $7, in shade Matte At Bat, and balanced the lip with a classic black eyeliner. For anyone hesitating to adorn a bright lip, here’s her formula: bright lip, gleaming complexion, and slicked back pony.

Now that we’ve snuck a peek into their makeup kits, check out these powerful affirmations celebs practice.
