Hi guys, it’s Monie here, AKA the perfume princess. I’m taking over to spill all the insider deets of the latest juice in the KAYALI family. Inspired by my LOVE of pistachio gelato, this new juice is the ultimate gourmand fragrance. Seriously, all the keynotes are based on food, and it smells so good you might actually want to eat it! Every time I spritz it on my skin, I feel so delicious, so if you want to smell like an absolute snack, this baby is for you! Here are all the deets, from the inspo to the notes and, of course, my fave layering options.

Top notes: Pistachio gelato, hazelnut, rum, cardamom green, bergamot
Middle notes: Geranium, peony white, jasmine, muguet, raspberry, white peach, pear
Base notes: Whipped cream, marshmallows, cotton candy, Turkish delight accord, cocoa, cedarwood, sandalwood, tonka bean
Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 is literally an explosion of yumminess and mouth-watering texture. The fragrance journey begins with the decadent nuttiness of hazelnut before pistachio bursts onto the scene, blended with rum for an utterly irresistible combination.
In the heart of the fragrance, delicate floral notes emerge, including jasmine and white peony, before raspberry and white peach are revealed, oozing a soft, sophisticated sweetness. As the fragrance dries down, you’re met with a delectable overdose of whipped cream, fluffy marshmallows, and Turkish delight that send your senses into overdrive. Finally, at the base, luxurious woody notes act as the crème de resistance, adding an opulent last bite. Yum, yum, YUM!
Whenever someone asks the question, “what would be your last meal on earth?” For me, it’s pistachio gelato. There’s just nothing as decadent, creamy, and delicious! True story: I fell in love with pistachio gelato back in 2014 when I went on a trip to Rome with my sister, Alya. I couldn’t stop eating it, and it quickly became my fave dessert of all time and my ultimate guilty pleasure.
When we began to create this juice, I knew I wanted a really beautiful, true gourmand perfume. In the KAYALI family, our fragrances always feature gourmand notes, like Vanilla, which is one of our cult scents. But this time, my team and I knew we wanted to push the boundaries, so we decided to work with the master of gourmand fragrances, Olivier Cresp, who’s renowned in the industry for making blockbuster gourmand juices. Not only did we work with Olivier, but we also worked with his son, Sebastien. This just felt super special to me, as KAYALI is a family business, and family values are at the heart of everything we do. It was such an honor to work with Olivier and Sebastien, and as a fragrance nerd, it was a real fan-girl moment for me!
Olivier and Sebastien took their inspiration from the legendary patisserie in Paris, du Meurice, by Cédric Grolet. Full of scrumptious ideas, we decided we wanted to create a never-smelled-before “birthday cake” fragrance layered with rich, sophisticated, and addictive notes. But after working together and discussing my love of pistachio, we knew pistachio had to be the key note. After many servings of Cedric Grolet’s famous pistachio dessert and scoops and scoops of pistachio gelato, we decided to recreate all of its mouthwatering textures – creamy, nutty, and utterly gourmand. I couldn’t be more obsessed with the final scent – I really believe we’ve elevated the pistachio note and made it one of the most delicious, luxe gourmand scents of all time.

I’m going to pass the mic to Olivier to describe the juice this time, “The fragrance begins with mouth-watering facets of hazelnut and pistachio blended with rum for a charismatic addiction. In the heart, we used the beautiful white peony for a rosy, honey-like effect and muguet to maintain the perfect balance of sweetness, freshness, and sophistication.” One word… YUM!!
It’s one of those fragrance you just CAN’T get enough of. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and nutty gourmand notes. It’s playful and flirtatious and yet intense at the same time. She’s the ultimate mood booster that honestly makes me feel sooooo happy, kinda like that first bite of your fave dessert.
For all you fragrance nerds out there, you may already be clued in on STT technology, which was a key component in us making this fragrance. It’s the art of expressing tastes in fragrances, a technique drawn by the expertise of flavorists for perfumers and their creations. The ingredients give texture, evoke appetizing emotion, and add another layer of innovation to new fragrances. It’s what makes the scent soooo special and truly tantalizing.
By the time we finalized the juice, I couldn’t stop spraying it. I would literally drench my body in the delectable scent, and every time, I would literally just say, “YUM!” So when it came to naming the scent, it was just one of those things that made sense.
For the bottle of this juice, again, we knew we wanted to do something a ‘lil different, so we decided on a frosted mint green bottle to really emulate that pistachio gelato vibe. It also has a white cap, which we’ve never done before. I’m obsessed – it’s chic and luxe but still fun and playful! It really pops and makes for the cutest shelfie snap!
