My Fave Natural Foundation Hack (It Hits Different)
As the Founder of Huda Beauty, my day is always jam-packed with meetings (which I do love), but my fave part of any day is when I get to play and experiment with makeup. At the end of the day, I’m still the same beauty-obsessive MUA who can never say no to trialing makeup hacks, and of course, I don’t gatekeep… Ever. So when my E-commerce team showed me this ahhhmazing complexion hack using two of our products, I literally ran to my glam room to try it, and OMG, the results are MAJOR. It’s SO quick and easy and leaves your skin looking super hydrated and dewy while still providing enough coverage to even out your complexion without looking cakey. Here’s the DL:

My Go-To Complexion Hack
Okay, so first, I’ve got to warn you, there’s a point where this hack looks kinda weird and gunky, but you’ve gotta trust the process as the final finish is STUNNING.
The hack involves mixing together two products: our Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Foundation, $42, and our WISHFUL Thirst Trap Peptide Serum HA, $47. The serum transforms the formula so it’s more lightweight and literally melts into your skin for this second skin finish that’s dewy, plump, and delicious. The peptide serum sheers the foundation out slightly, but you can increase the coverage because it builds and blends out so well.
If you only use our #FauxFilter Luminous Matte Foundation for full glam moments, this is such a great hack that gives you a sheerer formula that’s perfect for more low key looks.
I honestly use this hack daily – it’s my go-to for a skinimalist complexion when I’m not doing full glam. If you want more of a full glam feel, you can build on the base using full-coverage concealers – this is exactly what MUA Hindash did when he did my makeup, and I was OBSESSED with the final look. Also, if you don’t have either of these products, you can use any full-coverage foundation and a water-based serum you have in your kit (although I can’t guarantee the results will be exactly the same).
How To Get The Look
Step 1: Mix one pump of our Huda Beauty Thirst Trap Peptide Serum HA, $47, on the back of your hand or a mixing tray.
Step 2: Apply the DIY serum to your skin using a dense foundation brush. I like to stipple the brush onto the skin using small tapping motions before buffing out the formula for a seamless finish. You can also use a damp makeup sponge for a more natural finish.
Optional: You can opt to set this complexion look with powder, like our Easy Bake Loose Setting Powder, $35. Or alternatively, for a minimal makeup vibe, a light dusting of our GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder, $33, will help lock the look in place.
