This Drugstore Product Is My ULTIMATE Go-To Glow
A golden tan is essential for me, it just makes me feel 1000 times sexier – yaaaas! I LOVE a sun-kissed look but I’m all about faking it – it’s SO much better for your skin than hours spent in the sun. Since I discovered Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Legs Makeup about five years ago, it’s been my go-to for the perfect glow and my savior on so many occasions.
You can buy both cream and spray formulas, but my FAV is definitely the spray – it always gives me the glow I need in a hurry. The best thing is, it’s not just a tan, it actually gives you ahhhmazing coverage as well. It’s like a bb cream for your legs, it blurs the appearance of scars and marks for a flawless, airbrushed look. Instead of spraying it directly on yourself, you spray it onto your hands and rub the formula in, and it’s always very easy to blend, and I never get streaks (be sure to wash your hands after or use a mitt). I also love that the formula isn’t permanent, so it means I can quickly apply it to bare shoulders or legs – like when you’re wearing a midi dress, and you only need to do up to your knees! It’s water and transfer-resistant, but I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re going to a pool party – it’s water-resistant, not waterproof!
I also love that this formula comes in six shades, whereas most instant tans only offer a couple of shade options. I recommend only going two or three shades darker than your natural skin tone, as you don’t want it to look fake, and if it does happen to move, you won’t end up with super obvious white patches! I use shade Tan Glow, and it gives me a really subtle, healthy-looking tint, and I also have Deep Glow. My last and probably the most important tip is to avoid using it with fitted white clothes, it is transfer-proof, but if something is rubbing your skin, there’s a good chance it will rub off on it, and that’s not worth having a tan for! Overall this is a total lifesaver, and for $13 I haven’t found anything better.
Finally, you can use this for body contouring too. If you’re wearing a mini, you can apply this down your inner thighs and on the outsides of your thighs for added definition – just be sure to blend so you don’t look stripey! To add to the effect, add a little highlighter down the center of your shins and thighs for a Victoria’s Secret glow.
